The HEAL Palestine Medical Center, located in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, opposite Sayyadin Port, continued providing primary and emergency healthcare to displaced families across southern Gaza throughout August 2026.
According to the center’s monthly visitor report, the medical center served 14,194 patients and beneficiaries during the month across outpatient clinics, emergency care, pharmacy services, laboratory testing, wound care, vaccination, and patient transport.
Outpatient clinics received the largest share of visitors with 4,363 patients, closely followed by the pharmacy, which supported 4,278 patients. The emergency department treated 3,143 patients, while the laboratory processed 1,240 cases during the month.
The center also recorded 672 dressing cases and 493 vaccination cases, alongside 5 transport and ambulance cases. The vaccination and wound care services remain essential in a setting where overcrowding, damaged water and sanitation systems, and limited access to routine care leave communities highly vulnerable to infection.
Within the outpatient clinics, pediatrics accounted for the highest number of visits with 1,459 patients, followed by 1,310 communicable disease cases, 1,008 obstetrics and gynecology patients, and 586 internal medicine patients. Children and pregnant women together made up the majority of outpatient visits, underscoring the center’s role in protecting the most vulnerable members of displaced communities.
These figures reflect the center’s position as an accessible point of care for thousands of families living in displacement camps across Al-Mawasi. With hospitals across Gaza operating far beyond capacity, primary healthcare centers like this one absorb critical demand and prevent treatable conditions from escalating into emergencies.
Through outpatient treatment, emergency care, maternal and child health services, vaccination, diagnostics, and pharmacy access, the HEAL Palestine Medical Center remains a core part of HEAL Palestine’s Health Pillar and its commitment to sustaining healthcare access for Palestinians in Gaza.
