The Quarter, by the Numbers
Health
Keeping the Doors of Care Open
From a specialty field hospital and community medical points across Gaza to surgical missions in the West Bank and specialized treatment abroad, we keep the doors of care open for children wherever they are.
Health · Kuwait Specialty Field Hospital
Healing Lives, Around the Clock
Through the second quarter, the Kuwait Specialty Field Hospital stayed fully operational with no interruptions, one of the few places in Gaza still offering emergency, surgical, maternity, outpatient, diagnostic, and pharmacy care under one roof.
A team of 293 medical, technical, and administrative staff kept its doors open around the clock.

Health · Medical Points
Bringing Care to Where Families Shelter
Beyond the field hospital, community Medical Points bring primary care, pediatrics, chronic-disease management, and referrals directly into displacement areas across northern and southern Gaza.
This quarter, they operated continuously, with no closures or interruptions.

Health · Medical Missions & One-Time Assistance
Healing Patients, Strengthening Local Health Systems
Multidisciplinary teams travelled into West Bank hospitals to perform complex surgeries and transfer skills to local doctors, working hand in hand with the Ministry of Health. Missions ran at Rafidia Hospital, Makassed Hospital, the Palestine Medical Complex, Alia Hospital, and Khalil Suliman Hospital.
Alongside the missions, a one-time assistance program met urgent, case-by-case needs, including medications, eyeglasses, orthopedic and mobility aids, and nutritional support for children whose families could not afford them.

Success Story · Hassan & Walid · Age 9 · Twins
Seeing the Classroom Clearly
Born with a rare inherited eye disease, the twins had learned to live in a world of blur, guessing at faces and feeling for the edges of a classroom they could barely see.
Through a HEAL medical mission, both boys were examined and fitted with prescription eyeglasses made precisely for their eyes. For Hassan, who attends a school for children with visual impairments, the change was immediate. He can now recognize obstacles, move about safely, and meet the eyes of the people who love him. He grew so attached to his glasses that he hugged them for days, afraid to let them go.
Walid can finally read the board, finish his schoolwork, and raise his hand in class beside his friends. Two small pairs of glasses gave the brothers back the same thing: a childhood they can see clearly.
Health · Global Healing
Bringing Injured Children to the Care They Need
Global Healing accompanies children with the most complex injuries on their journey to advanced treatment abroad. As US medical-travel pathways narrowed this quarter, the program opened new routes through Mexico, Spain, and Portugal, while the Egypt-based team supported families with follow-up care, transportation, outings, and Eid gatherings.
Success Story · Saher · Age 6 · Global Healing · Egypt
And That Smile Says Everything
Saher was six when his home in Khan Younis was struck and he lost his right leg. For a small boy, the world can narrow to a single loss. But through the Global Healing Program he was brought to Egypt for surgery and care, and today, after his operation, he is healing well.
In a borrowed living room, a new toy car clutched in his hands, Saher plays the way six-year-olds are meant to. The hardest year of his life is slowly giving way to something lighter, and his smile, wide and unguarded, says more than any report ever could.
Success Story · Aser · Age 6 · Global Healing · Boston
Learning to Be a Child Again
Aser lost his family the night their home in Gaza was bombed. He was six, and suddenly alone with injuries no child should have to carry. Through the Global Healing Program he came to Boston for surgery, recovery, and long-term support, and his care has spanned orthopedic surgery, medical follow-up, and months of patient rehabilitation.
But healing for a child is not only hospitals and therapy sessions. It is climbing, jumping, and daring to laugh out loud again. Every time Aser reaches a little higher or moves a little farther, he is not just growing stronger; he is reclaiming a childhood, one brave step at a time.
Success Story · Muath · Age 14 · Global Healing · Mexico City
A New Pathway to Walk Again
Muath was fourteen when a bombing in Gaza took his leg. This week, half a world away, he walked into his first evaluation at MedHaus in Mexico City, the beginning of a long-awaited plan of assessment, physical rehabilitation, and prosthetic fitting.
His arrival carries meaning beyond his own recovery. As travel to the United States grew harder for injured children, HEAL opened new pathways through Mexico, Spain, and Portugal. Muath is among the first to walk them, so the children who come after him will find the door already open.

Education
When Schools Close, Learning Cannot Wait
When schools close and families are displaced, learning cannot wait. From a new school in Gaza to tutoring, scholarships, and emergency tuition in Egypt, we keep classrooms open and children enrolled.
Education · Gaza
A New School, and Supplies to Keep Learning
On June 25, 2026, HEAL opened a new school in Gaza enrolling 1,500 students aged 4 to 18. Across three active sites, the program served 1,910 learners this quarter with 43 teachers and facilitators, and delivered school supplies and equipment to children who had lost everything.
Also this quarter: HEAL launched the HEAL Tech Scholarship with Axsos, provided laptops to two Global Healing families, and worked with the Aid team to distribute tents serving more than 20,000 children.

Education · Egypt
Tutoring, Tuition, and Staying Enrolled

In Egypt, the program helped displaced Palestinian students stay in school through tutoring, mentorship, and an emergency tuition fund that covered fees for students at risk of dropping out, keeping learning on track through a difficult year.

Aid
Meeting Basic Needs at the Scale This Moment Demands
Meeting the most basic needs at the scale this moment demands: hot meals and bread, fresh food, tents and shelter, hygiene and baby kits, and rapid emergency response for families across Gaza.
Aid · Humanitarian Response
Delivering Humanitarian Aid at Scale
Working alongside 50 local and international partners, our teams delivered food, shelter, hygiene, and emergency support across northern and southern Gaza. A new bakery opened in mid-June, and distributions of tents, hygiene and baby kits, clothing, baby formula, and nutritional supplements continue until every household in need is reached.

Success Story · Tala · A Little Girl in Gaza
A Small Bag of Meat, and a Big Smile
She is barefoot, in a daisy-print outfit, and smiling, the kind of smile that does not know it was supposed to have been lost by now.
For three years, fresh meat has been almost impossible to find in Gaza. Tala was showing the quiet signs of severe acute malnutrition, the toll of empty markets and closed crossings, when the HEAL Palestine team reached her family.
Then a shipment arrived, and someone placed a small bag in her hands: three kilograms of fresh meat. She held it the way another child might hold a gift, because to her it was one. And she walked home barefoot through the sand, smiling the whole way, carrying dinner for her family and a little more hope than she had that morning.

Success Story · A Tent for Ali and His Family
A Tent, and a Quiet Place to Study
Hajj Samir and his wife lost all five of their sons. Everything they had built was gone, except for one: their grandson Ali, seventeen, sitting his Tawjihi exams while carrying the weight of an entire family’s memory. They had no shelter, and no quiet corner where a boy could grieve, breathe, or open a book.
When the HEAL tent arrived, Hajj Samir said very little. He simply watched his grandson settle into a corner with his textbooks, and something in his eyes softened. Ali studied in that small square of canvas and went on to earn top marks, the difference between a boy who survives and a boy who thrives.

Highlight · Amputee and Limb-Loss Support
Helping Children Walk, Reach, and Hold Again
Children who lose limbs need far more than one surgery. HEAL Palestine supports evaluation, prosthetic fitting, rehabilitation, mobility care, and emotional support so children can move forward with dignity.
Success Story · Malak · Age 7 · Global Healing · Portugal
“I Want a Prosthetic Leg. I Want a Childhood Like Other Children.”
On July 15, 2024, Malak’s home was bombed while her family slept, and she lost her leg. Through the Global Healing Program she is now being prepared to travel to Portugal for evaluation, a prosthetic fitting, and rehabilitation.
Her journey reflects the program’s new pathways abroad. Children who lose limbs need far more than one surgery, and Malak’s wish is simple: she wants to walk again, and to live like other children.
