HEAL Palestine’s field team recently conducted a visit to Moein, a 12-year-old child in Gaza, to assess his condition and identify the support he urgently needs.

Moein is the sole survivor of his immediate family following the war. He now lives with his uncle in a partially destroyed home, where living conditions remain extremely difficult and access to basic necessities is limited. The environment reflects the broader reality faced by many children in Gaza who continue to navigate daily life amid destruction and instability.

Despite the profound loss he has endured, Moein shows remarkable resilience and determination to continue his education. His commitment to learning highlights the importance of providing not only material assistance, but also stability and long-term support for children growing up in crisis.

During the visit, HEAL Palestine’s team began assessing Moein’s immediate humanitarian needs, including essential supplies, living conditions, and access to care. In parallel, plans are being developed to provide psychosocial support, recognizing the deep emotional impact of his experience and the importance of sustained mental health care.

Moein’s case reflects the urgent need for integrated support that combines aid, education, and mental health services. For children who have lost their families, consistent care and follow-up are critical to helping them rebuild a sense of safety and future.
