Through HEAL Palestine’s Winter Campaign, we are supporting Temporary Learning Spaces (TLSs) across Gaza to ensure that education continues despite harsh weather and ongoing displacement. As winter conditions worsened, many learning spaces faced the risk of closure due to cold, rain, and unsafe environments. HEAL’s response focused on providing practical infrastructure so schools could remain operational.

To date, more than 15 HEAL tents have been distributed, directly supporting over 10,000 students in southern Gaza. These tents are now functioning as weather-protected classrooms, allowing children to return to structured learning environments where routine, safety, and continuity can be restored. In several schools, including Afaq TLS, enrollment has increased significantly once protected classroom spaces became available, demonstrating the strong demand for education even in crisis conditions.

This effort reflects the close integration of HEAL Palestine’s Education and Aid pillars. By addressing immediate humanitarian needs, such as shelter and winter protection, while simultaneously supporting access to education, HEAL helps reduce learning disruption and provides children with stable spaces essential for both academic progress and psychosocial well-being.

The Winter Campaign is ongoing. Similar support is planned for northern Gaza, alongside continued winter relief and clothing distributions for families and students. These interventions are made possible through donor support and local coordination, ensuring that education remains accessible and resilient, even under emergency conditions.

By investing in temporary yet effective solutions, HEAL Palestine continues to protect children’s right to learn, regardless of weather, displacement, or crisis.
