The HEAL Palestine Medical Center, located in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, opposite Sayyadin Port, continued providing primary and emergency healthcare to displaced families across southern Gaza throughout September 2026.

According to the center’s monthly visitor report, the medical center served 12,057 patients and beneficiaries during the month across outpatient clinics, emergency care, pharmacy services, laboratory testing, wound care, vaccination, and patient transport.

Outpatient clinics received the largest share of visitors with 4,068 patients, followed by the pharmacy, which supported 3,791 patients. The emergency department treated 2,647 patients, while the laboratory processed 749 cases during the month.

The center also recorded 525 dressing cases and 275 vaccination cases, alongside 2 transport and ambulance cases. Vaccination and wound care services remain essential in a setting where overcrowding, damaged water and sanitation systems, and limited access to routine care leave communities highly vulnerable to infection.

Within the outpatient clinics, pediatrics accounted for the highest number of visits with 1,244 patients, followed by 1,228 communicable disease cases, 1,078 obstetrics and gynecology patients, and 518 internal medicine patients. Children and pregnant women together made up the majority of outpatient visits, underscoring the center’s role in protecting the most vulnerable members of displaced communities.

Totals were lower than in August 2026, when the center served 14,194 patients, with decreases recorded across most departments. Communicable disease cases remained high at 1,228, close to the previous month’s figure, indicating continued pressure from infection in displacement camps.

These figures reflect the center’s position as an accessible point of care for thousands of families living in displacement camps across Al-Mawasi. With hospitals across Gaza operating far beyond capacity, primary healthcare centers like this one absorb critical demand and prevent treatable conditions from escalating into emergencies.

Through outpatient treatment, emergency care, maternal and child health services, vaccination, diagnostics, and pharmacy access, the HEAL Palestine Medical Center remains a core part of HEAL Palestine’s Health Pillar and its commitment to sustaining healthcare access for Palestinians in Gaza.
